Shacks and shanties
constructed of corrugated
steel brown with rust

Tiny shops crammed
right up to the road selling
master crafts

Hoovervilles spring up
like tropical vegetation amid
sleek high-rise buildings

Hectares and hectares
of executive housing
sprawling greedily

About andrewwhiting

A sentimental and sarcastic poet, lover of language, traveling and nature (not a fan of the Oxford comma).
