Unfinished

Idly dancing shapes
like castles of shadows
The mathematical
derision creeping
Early angled winter
evening light
Through gates interred
like waves of
Particles drifting to
impossible locations
Interaction undetectable
without perturbation
Crisscrossing lines
to disturb elation
Fluctuating in time
despite such certainty
Like keeping rhythm
with the heel
That stepped to
rewrite Paradise Lost
Metaphorical exaggeration
of sketches into
Full scale models
representing all reality
Beating every beat and
only those without
Exception or inclusion
of any destination
A world made of fences
like erratic distortion
Across a wearied euphoric
electrocardiogram
Eyes blinded squinting
against wisdom to see
The notes on the page
like hemidemisemiquavers
That sing in harmonic
unison overcoming
Aberrations of irregular
frequency like language
Resonating in dissonance
ambiguous or effluvial

  1. Ken W. Simpson says:

I loved the flow from line to line. A creative feast for me.

  2. Thomas Davis says:

The mathematical ambiguity of the poem, with its angular language, is interesting, to say the least. I’ll have to think about this awhile.
